Over the summer (28 June to 24 Sept 2010), the Central Library will be re-organising its book collection. This will involve us moving all the books into a single numerical sequence. We hope that this will help you find books more easily.
Whilst this re-organisation is taking place some areas of the Central Library will be closed to readers.
MSc students will probably be affected most, so I recommend you borrow those books you might need for your dissertation before the end of June.
At present this is what will be happening over the summer:
- The start and end dates of the stock moves are currently from Mon 28 June to Fri 24 September
- Study space on levels 1 and 3 will be unaffected by the project.
- Areas of the library on Levels 2, 4 and 5 will be closed temporarily as moving takes place.
- Access to all of the books will be affected at some point over the summer. The library will warn you as far in advance as it can as to exactly when and for how long each section will be unavailable so that you can plan ahead.
There is full information on the Single Sequence Project web page on the Library website. There will be updates on this blog and on the Library website as the project progresses. You can see the latest updates here.
